At the annual world cheese awards held this year in Dublin (29th September), a Tenerife cheese was officially voted as the best cheese in the world. The grand jury tied 4 cheeses as the best after a 'sudden death' type vote with the 12 judges choosing their favorite from the 12 that had made the final. The Tenerife Cheese was a cured goat's cheese with a paprika (pimentón) and roasted maize meal mixed with sugar (gofío) rind. Source: ThinkSpain.com & FineFoodWorld.co.uk
