There are some many 'buzz words' associated with eco friendly dinning these days. From sustainable farming to food miles, today's dinners want to know more about where the food they are consuming has come from and how it got to their plate. Whilst this is something that is very difficult to do in Tenerife as much of the produce used by the local restaurants has to be imported to the island, clearly the fact that Tenerife is a large rock rising out of the Atlantic Ocean, it's quite safe to assume that much of the fish has been either caught or farmed locally in Tenerife.

Tenerife, like many other holiday destinations, has a large number of discussion forums dedicated to it. These websites are areas which people use to discuss Tenerife or to promote Tenerife and are quite often a valuable source of information for people wanting to stay in touch with what is going on in and around the Island of Tenerife.
Tenerife Chat is a Tenerife based discussion forum that is slightly different to many of the others. |

We all know how much we rely on Wifi access these days, for me, it's one of the main things I look for when seeking out a new place to eat breakfast or lunch whilst in Tenerife. Obviously I know my usual haunts who will offer FREE Wifi but every so often I find myself in a 'foreign' area looking for something to eat and also wanting Wifi access.

HMS Bounty the Tall Ship which visited Tenerife back in Christmas 2007 has been hit by Hurricane Sandy as it sailed from Conneticut to Florida.  The Ship began to take on water on its voyage and the crew eventually had to abandon ship as it appear it capsized. 14 of the 16 crew members managed to get into the life rafts and were eventually rescued by the US Coast Guard, there is still no news of the missing 2 crew members.

6 Ladies, 40 days and nights, 3000 miles, one small rowing boat and a great big ocean!

The six members of the all Ladies 'Row for Freedom' team have passed Tenerife and are now completing their final sea trails and preparations in San Sebastian before they head out on the 3000 mile Atlantic crossing from La Gomera to Barbados. If successful the ladies will have broken two world records, they will be the first all female team to complete an unsupported Trans-Atlantic rowing crossing and also the fastest.
