Thursday 26th March 2009 - Tenerife has today been experiencing an Island wide power cut which stretched from Santa Cruz de Tenerife in the North to Los Gigantes in the South.

It is believed that a bolt of lightening struck an electricity installation causing turmoil throughout Tenerife.

Whilst the power has now been restored after around 6 hours, its feared that more storms are on their way to the island and further power cuts cannot be ruled out.

Bill (aka Sir Old Golfer) who wrote a great article about the Abama Golf Course in Tenerife has recently launched his own blog site Golf Tenerife. Naturally its about Golf as well as Tenerife and in particular Golf in Tenerife.

As Bill says himself, his only interest in life at his age is to play as much golf as possible and write about it when its dark.

So if your interested in playing Golf in Tenerife or if you would like to learn about where you can play golf in Tenerife then take a look at his blog.

On our last Tenerife holiday, there was a day that was not your typical Tenerife weather, it was overcast to say the least and a day on the balcony or beach sunbathing was very definitely out of the question; what were we to do and how could I bring a smile to my wife’s face despite the weather. The answer lay at Fanabe and in particular in the designer shops at the Plaza del Duque Shopping Center.

Q: My wife and I are considering visiting Tenerife next year for our first real holiday since our beautiful baby son was born 18 months ago and we are really looking forward to the break but due to personal reasons, neither of our own parents can come with us. This is a shame because it’s our 5th Wedding Anniversary whilst were out and I would really like to take my wife out for a romantic evening but we have no one to baby sit for us. Do you know if there are any licensed Tenerife child care companies or babysitting facilities that we could use? We would be grateful for any information you can give us. Rob Grenson.

A: Hi Rob,
Thank you very much for your enquiry via Tenerife Times, regarding your Tenerife Childcare and Babysitting needs, have you seen the Tenerife Childcare website?
