Mt. Teide gets its first covering of snow
(Friday, 31 October 2008) Written by hopper

Residents of Tenerife woke up on Friday morning to discover that Mt. Teide had been given its first covering of snow for the 2008/2009 Winter season.

Whilst I always think that Mt. Teide is spectacular, I believe its at its most spectacular when its covered in snow and Friday 30th October 2008 saw Teide have its first covering of snow, infact there were a number of roads high up on the mountain that had to be closed to traffic.

There is also currently a severe weather warning for high winds and rain for most of the Canaries over the weekend of 31st October - 2nd November so you may see some more snow on Teide very soon.
