Winter Sun in Tenerife

As with most holiday destinations, Tenerife is always a busy destination during the main Summer and School Holiday periods, however, Tenerife (and the other Canary Islands) always score well is the Winter Sun stakes. With average temperatures throughout November to February at around 21ºC Tenerife is a great destination for Winter Sun.

So many people travel South to find Winter Sun in Tenerife that the locals have a name for them, they are know as ‘the Swallows’ This is a reference to the birds yearly migratory habits when they too head South for Winter sun in Tenerife!

One other benefit of deciding to get some winter sun in Tenerife is that the island doesn’t have a closed season. Almost all of the bars, restaurants, clubs and major tourist attractions are open all year round due to the sheer number of tourists who choose to find some Winter Sun in Tenerife.

Often I have been away to other holiday destinations and find myself returning towards the end of September and appearing to be the one left to turn the lights out as you leave the airport! There is no chance of this happening in Tenerife with its all year round sun and tourist season.

Another benefit of getting your Winter Sun in Tenerife is that it is only just over 4 hours due south from the UK. This means that you are literally flying 4 hours into the sun, towards the equator. This ‘due South’ flight factor means that Tenerife is without doubt one of the best and nearest destinations to the UK for guaranteed Winter Sun. There is no long haul flight from the UK to Tenerife and therefore not as much chance of suffering from the associated health risks attributed to these Long Haul flights.

Winter Sun in Tenerife – 1,000,000 birds can’t be wrong!
