Fillet Steak, Sun Sets and another Sad Farwell to Tenerife. Westhaven Bay We always seem to leave Tenerife around on our flight bound for the UK at around 9pm so we have developed a ritual of going to Westhaven Bay and having one of the best Tenerife Fillet steak meals that there can possibly be.
Nestling neatly into the rocky coast line in Costa del Silencio, Westhaven Bay is an oasis of tranquillity, I know that this term is much overused but this really is a fitting statement about the Westhaven Bay Hotel. This family run hotel is spotlessly clean and provides a level of service and food that is so rare to find these days. We often go to Westhaven Bay when we are in Tenerife, often just for a Coffee. This in itself is fantastic. Order any coffee and you will be served, not only with coffee but also with a bun and a shot glass full of the most delightful Chocolate Mousse, this is what I mean by the terrific level of service found at Westhaven Bay. Another particular favourite has to be the Apple Cake. A hearty slice of Belgium Apple Cake, cream and a portion of Vanilla Ice Cream – just wonderful. However to the title of this post, Fillet Steak, Sun Sets and a Sad farewell. Usually at around 5pm we make our way to Westhaven Bay and order the Fillet Steak. This is the most tender, most ‘melt in your mouth’ fillet steak I have ever tasted, but what makes this meal extra special (as if the meat wasn’t enough!) is that we sit and eat it on the terrace, overlooking Las Galletas and the Tenerife Sun Set. This is always our last meal in Tenerife but its one that we both enjoy so much because the setting is beautiful, the food fantastic and the service excellent. If ever you find yourself in Costa del Silencio, look Westhaven Bay up, you certainly won’t be disappointed. I am also reliably informed that the Barraquito's at Westhaven Bay are the best on the island - unless you know any different. |
