Spare a thought if you will for all the many UK bowlers as we move from the Summer and the nights get dark earlier and colder. What do these bowlers do during the cold weather? The answer is come to Tenerife for the Winter sun and a continuation of the Bowling season.
The Tenerife Flat green bowling scene is very much alive and going from strength to strength. There are more and more companies recognising the value of the bowlers to the local economy and bowling holidays and tours are commonplace now on the island of Tenerife because of its 'Eternal Spring' climate. The mainstay of the Tenerife Bowling scene is the Winter Gardens on the Golf del Sur. Here they not only have 8 floodlit Greenguage Flat Greens, but also have a on site Bowls-Coordinator and Bowls reception. The Winter Garden (who also cater for disbaled visitors) regularly hold and organise regular competetive matches, tournements, coaching lessons, Bowls fun mornings including tuition, BBQ's and evening leagues. The Winter Gardens Bowls Centre is open all year round from 9am until late. |
