My brother in law applied for a spainish visa and it was a nightmare. Firstly the receptionist at the manchester consulate is unfriendly and not very well presented. She has a piercing in her lower lip and does not really understand english. The process is also sooo long for the application so therefore i reccommend that if you wish to obtain a Schengan visa apply at the French embassy where it is possible to get a visa on the same day. Also it is much easier showing a hotel booking rather than showing a sponser form for the purpose of proving accomodation.

I've made an appointment for visa on 21/04/08 (in person with all required photocopies and selfaddressed envelope). Today is 14/05/08 and I have not received any letter with appointment date yet. Shall I wait or shall I go there again?

I am a veterinary surgeon. I have clients travelling to Spain this Sunday with their dog. The dog has a PETS passport and complies with the PETS requirements. The dog had his last rabies vaccine boostered whilst he was in Spain in March 2007. He then returned to UK and has not had a rabies booster since. I checked the rabies vaccine he was given - it is licensed for 3 years protection. I understand that in Spain these are usually given annually. My question is - should I give the dog a rabies booster now - before he travels to Spain on Sunday 11th May, as advised by UK government veterinarians? Is this your advice also?

I am attending a meeting in Barcelona from 12-14 th March 08 , I hold a pakistani passport. i tried to book an appointment for visa application, I have been told that it will be after 86 days which is in May. I s there a way I can book an urgent appointment for 15th Feb 08.
