Having recently searched the web to find flights to Tenerife that would fit into our schedule and budget we finally secured two return tickets from Manchester to Tenerife with BA. As with all online airline bookings our flight to Tenerife were paid for in full at the time of booking. We printed off our e-tickets and thought that was it. How wrong could we be?
We have recently received an email telling us about important changes to our Tenerife flight bookings. In a nut shell, the airline has altered our flight times so that we now land at 3:30am. My problem with this is that if we had wanted to arrive back in the UK from Tenerife in the early hours of the morning we would have booked those flights in the beginning and probably paid a lot less than we did. When we talked to the airline they say, we will refund your tickets if you are not happy but in my opinion, this is not the issue, it’s the fact that the airlines seem to be able to just alter their schedules without any redress. We now have to take an extra half day off work in order to not go straight to work from the airport! Obviously, the change of times is for the benefit of the airline, why don’t they have to compensate us for our inconvenience? I don’t think for one minute that anyone from BA will answer this question but they are free to use the comment box below should they read this post! |
