Easter in Tenerife

As with most other Catholic countries, Tenerife holds the Christian festival of Easter in very high regard with many Villages and Towns partaking in processions and feast to celebrate the holy days over the Easter period.

On Tenerife, the main Easter celebration takes palce in La Laguna where the Easter processions are popular with many locals and tourists alike with today (Good Friday) being the most popular when there are 2 processions, the first is the ‘Procesion Magna’ which takes place at 5pm and the 2^nd the ‘Procesion del Silencio’ proceeds this at 9pm, both of which leave from the Church of the Conception in La Laguna, Tenerife.
