Tenerife has a number of world quality hotels, something that is often overlooked by people planning holidays to Tenerife using the Internet. Here 'the Travel Magician' gives you his point of view about quality Tenerife accomodation and some of the reasons why using a travel agent to book your Tenerife Holiday is often the bestr option.
I have personally and professionally known David (The Travel Magician) for over 20 years and found his wealth of knowledge within the travel industry to be invaluable when booking a holiday anywhere around the world as well as Tenerife.
Many people think that Tenerife is all about sun, sea and sangria and a gathering place for hoards of all-inclusive Brits looking for one long drinking session in the sun.
If you want that, I’ll fix you up with a good deal, but the ones saying that this is all Tenerife has to offer couldn’t be further from the truth! O.K. some southern parts of the island are densely populated with accommodation offering this type of holiday. But the same can be said about parts of Majorca, Ibiza and the Spanish mainland. Books are nearly always judged by their cover and I am saddened and surprised when I see books and brochures depicting Tenerife in this way!
The islanders are also surprised and are quick to point out that there is much more to their homeland than bars and beaches. Tenerife along with the other Canary Islands is, of course at a slight advantage over the Mainland and Balearics in that it offers wall to wall sunshine for most of the year and is just about the shortest flight from the U.K. in terms of guaranteeing sunshine whenever you go.
There are of course exceptions, but generally you’re pretty safe in terms of daytime sunshine and whilst it can get a little cool on winter evenings, it still far, far better than the weather back in Britain at the corresponding time. I am asked on many occasions for “quality hotels, guaranteed weather and as short a flight as possible”. When I go back and suggest Tenerife, I am almost always met with “there aren’t any good hotels there. Some reasonable ones, but they’re in Las Americas and it’s too lively for us there”.
If I had a pound for every time that statement had been made, or at least one very similar, I would be able to have a fortnight out there myself!
When you actually look deeper into it, Tenerife has several properties at the top end of the market and some of them are situated in the quietest resorts on the island. Some are resorts on their own private beach and yes there are some really good hotels in Playa de Las Americas and it’s immediate vicinity as well, some very good ones!
So don’t discount Tenerife when you’re looking for that quality holiday. The island has some stunning scenery and only a fool would go there without taking some time to visit the “real” Tenerife. When you consider your next holiday, don’t discount Tenerife.
Take time to look at the hotels below: I will be pleased to help with your travel plans. Please bear in mind that the internet is cheaper sometimes, but there are also pitfalls too numerous to mention. In my opinion, there is nothing better than using a travel agent to book your holiday.
It saves you valuable time. Yes sometimes, you might pay a tad more than doing it yourself, but one thing is for sure, your money is totally secure if you use a reputable agent. Any travel agent worth their salt will either save you money or get you better value for what your money.
The other thing to bear in mind is that some hotels do offer good rates online but often allocate rooms of inferior quality or those in need of refurbishment. In short, you get what you pay for!
