Q: I have read your article about the wines of Tenerife and was wondering where is the best place to find (and maybe sample) some of the local Tenerife Wines?  Didier Van de Veen

A: Hi Didier, thanks for reading my article about Tenerife wines and also for asking your question about the wines of Tenerife.

You should be able to find a reasonable selection of local Tenerife Wines from any good wine seller as you travel around the Island. Many of the better supermarkets also stock a wide selection of wines including some local ones.

However if you are serious about your Tenerife wines and would like to really get ‘under the skin’ of the local Tenerife wine culture, the Tenerife Island Cabildo (Government) have taken over a 17th Century hacienda and turned it into a Tenerife Wine Museum where they use the facility to promote the islands wines.

Here you can try wines from the 5 different labels of the Tenerife Wine producers, have a meal in their restaurant and buy wines from the shop.

The’ La Baranda’ wine museum is usually open Tuesday to Saturday 11am – 8pm and Sundays and Bank Holidays 11.am – 6pm (Closed Mondays)
