My good friends, Chris & Sarah of the Tenerife Dive Centre, Tenerife Scuba (with whom I dive when I am out in Tenerife), have informed me that they are running another of their legendary dive trips to the most westerly of the Canary Islands El Hierro. The trip is scheduled from 1st July 2007 to 10th July. I have always promised myself that I will get on one of these trips one day but alas have not yet managed to make it yet. I received the following email from Chris at Tenerife Scuba relating to their proposed trip and the diving there . . . 
Diving El Hierro or Next stop America
El Heirro is the most westerly of the Canary Islands and in times gone by sailors used to think that if you sailed past it and you would fall off the edge of the world. 
It is also home to possibly some of the best diving in the world. La Restinga, which is situated on the most southerly tip of the island with a population of less than 200 is by a protected marine park, and host to Fotosub one of the world's major underwater photography competitions, which says it all. 
With a 1/2 doz restaurants and bars if you’re looking for wild nightlife this place is not for you. If tranquility, excellent diving, and quality time with your camera sounds good, then this is the place to be. 
This trip will be the fourth that we have run. One of our previous trips gained us our PADI certificate of Recognition for Excellence for “Outstanding Customer Service” To the best of our knowledge we are the only dive centre in Tenerife to have received this award. Itinerary 14 dive in total, 12 El Hierro, 2 Return to Tenerife, possible 5 additional dives. El Hierro & Tenerife.
