Tenerife and in particular the waters around the South West of the Island offer an aquatic playground to anyone wanting to take a powerboat out onto the water however, as in most walks of life its always advisable for you to have the correct training and so on my last visit to Tenerife I met up with John and Barbara from Power Boat Training Tenerife to take the 2 day RYA PowerBoat training course.

Tenerife Powerboat training

As a child from about the age of 12, when all my peers were buying NME and Sounds to read, I used to get Motorboat and Yachting and sit staring at the boats all day long, particularly on a Saturday before the results of the football matches came in because I used to dream about which boat my mother would buy me if her pools came up.

Well they never did and so I am still dreaming but the 2 days spent with Tenerife Powerboat Training was enough to whet my appetite once again for all things nautical.

The course that Tenerife Powerboat Training offer is the 2 day RYA Powerboat Level 2 course and ends with you being presented (assuming you pass the course) with an official national qualification that can be upgraded to an Internationally recognised Powerboat Certificate, this will allow you to charter a powerboat up to 10m in length in costal waters throughout the world.

If you are considering owning a boat in Tenerife or even chartering one, then I strongly suggest that you contact Powerboat Training Tenerife and take advantage of the excellent wealth of local knowledge they have about Powerboating in Tenerife.

I too have had the pleasure of Johns easy going ways of training. I trained on his old boat and passed and since then have chartered the new RIB 'Mausi B' twice. I have also rented their accommodation near Vera de Erques.
If you want to learn boating then John and Barbara Williams are definately the way to do it.
