CD Tenerife, the islands professional football team completed the 2009 season by finishing 3rd in the league and so ensuring promotion into the Spanish 1st division.

2010 will see CD Tenerife pitting their skills against teams such as Real Madrid, Athletico Madrid and the 2009 Champions League winners Barcelona amongst others.

Kick off for the 2010 season will take place on 30th August with Tenerife playing away to fellow promotion winning team Zaragoza.
