Jet2 to Tenerife but Jet Lagged on the way back! PDF Print E-mail

Last week my wife and I had a great mini-break in Tenerife, we flew to Tenerife from Leeds-Bradford Airport with Jet2. The flight was good, we had no problems and we even hired their new entertainment package for £5 – well worth it on a four hour flight to Tenerife. For £5 you get a Hard drive and screen (a bit like a portable DVD player) that has over 50 programmes preinstalled on it. They range from Lifestyle programmes - Sports Programmes and also a Children’s selection. You can also use 2 headsets on the set so it’s great for a couple and you don’t get any interruptions whilst you are informed of the ‘scratch card’ service. Why do they always do this at the most exciting part of the film? It’s always in the last 15 minutes just as the plot is unravelling and they just turn the sound off, it wouldn’t be so bad if they paused it but do they? NO We had a great break; cheers Chris and Sarah for letting us hijack your Wedding Anniversary meal! At the Reina Sophia Airport in South Tenerife, on our return to the UK, we were checking in and were presented with food vouchers. The plane was delayed by 3 hours. Now my question is; Why don’t the airlines let us know before we get to the airport? They have our mobile numbers, a simple text would help, and we could have gone elsewhere and got a good meal instead of the expensive sandwiches and drinks on offer at the airport! Another issue is that we were due to land at 1:30am; we eventually landed at 4:00am. As we were that late, we had to take the morning off work, if you factor the cost of this into our flights, we could well have purchased other flights that landed at a more reasonable time! Whilst delays are often unavoidable and I would hate the airlines to sacrifice safety for the sake of a flight delay, I have to ask, why do I have to pay the price for this delay? Ps: Thank you Auntie M & Uncle C for the use of your drive!
